We had a great time on Friday night with our watermelon infused vodka and cooking out. We hung out outside playing games with our friends drinking and then board games. It was a low key evening and great to catch up with our KC friends.
On Saturday we layed by the pool at our friend, Sara's, house. It was a bit cloudy but very relaxing! Then at 7pm we went to the lake for our friends couples shower. It was at Lake Latawana. It was hosted by Chuckie's parents friends who live on the lake next to his parents. They did a mexican theme with yummy food and great drinks.

And of course the yummy drinks
Then on Sunday we flew to Chicago for our free Cubs game. The seats were on the rooftop section by the Cubs stadium. It was amazing! It was all completely free! All the beer you can imagine, wine, and a TON of food – burgers, brats, burgers, chips, pasta salad, desserts, etc. You name it, they had it! Needless to say, my husband took advantage of the “free” beer – he had his fair share!
Josh enjoying the game:
On the rooftop:
It was SO hot outside that I now have the WORST tan line ever from my tank top! I now need another vacation day to lay out and get rid of these lines!
After the game we went to take a nap (and sleep off the beer) then we went to eat Giordianos pizza and saw Toy Story 3 3D. The movie was really cute! It was better than the others I thought, but I love cartoon movies so I’m an easy judge.
Josh loving his Chicago style pizza:
On Monday we spent our time on Michigan Avenue. We shopped and shopped and then shopped some more! There were a ton of sales so our suitcase home today was really packed! It was a thousand degrees so we decided to see another movie during the day. (We never have time for the movies). So we saw Knight and Day. It was really action packed but good! After that we went to the best Tapas restaurant and then to the Melting Pot for a chocolate fondue and wine. It was fabulous day!
Enjoying the Melting Pot:
We flew home this morning and have been on the couch since. We don’t have much down time… and my husband NEEDS it. So that’s what we are doing today. (Although I’ve uploaded pictures, blogged, laundry, and scrapbook – what can I say; I don’t like to lay around!) Tonight we are going to St. Joe where Lucas, Josh’s best friend, and his wife, Amanda, live. We are doing dinner and hanging out with them. We are looking forward to it, we don’t get to see them much!
The next post you read from me will most likely have pictures of my new nephew! My sister in law is being induced on Friday morning around 6am! Can't wait :)
Hope everyone had a fabulous 4th!
