This week involved a lot of goodbyes! Although it is sad, it is extremely exciting that I will no longer be traveling every single week for work. I had to say goodbye to all the employees at my client site who have become good friends, girls from my company who I gossip with everyday and sit next too, goodbye to ED physicians who I've worked with every day, goodbye to Connie who has served me breakfast every morning at the Homewood Suites, goodbye to Amer, the taxi attendant, who gets me a taxi every morning from the Homewood Suites, goodbye to downtown Chicago during the week, goodbye to Sprinkles cupcakes, goodbye to Wow Boa, a hot asian bun restaurant that I love, and most importantly goodbye hotel beds!
I've been talking about "getting off the road" for awhile now, especially because Josh is no longer traveling. It is the weirdest feeling to think that tonight is my very last flight home from full time traveling. It's been three and a half years. Bitter sweet, I guess. It's going to be a complete life change for me and my family. All in good ways, just crazy it's actually happening. I can't imagine not having the experience that I've had with traveling and having the ability to experience all the different places and free points to go on mini vacations with Josh whenever we want. We've been so lucky! I wouldn't change one day of the past 4 years since I started the full time travel. It has definitely prepared us in multiple ways for our future and I feel very blessed to have had the experience.
Yes, I will still travel for work but it won’t be as much and will be different places. So one month I may travel two weeks then not travel for a month, etc. It will be fantastic to have every night with my husband and my furbabies. Also, looking forward to happy hours with my girlfriends and walks with Melmann after work.
Soooo goodbye Chicago, Southwest Airlines every Monday and Thursday, and hotel beds! It was a great run but I’m excited for the change and family time!
This weekend we are relaxing at home and enjoying time doing nothing. Hope everyone has a good one.
