My favorite time of Year

Fall is now here! It's 70 degrees outside and absolutely perfect! I just love it.

Last weekend our good friends, Lindsay and Warren got married! It was beautiful and a lot of fun. Josh and I got some cute photo booth pictures and a got a full bag of candy to go from the candy table (yes, that was the highlight of my night - I can no longer enjoy wine so I take it out on candy every once in awhile)

Here are some pictures of the amazing evening with great friends!

 Cutting the cake!
 First dance!
 Janae and I

This week my husband traveled for work to Ohio so this weekend he decided to stay there an extra day to visit with his grandma.. so that means it's just me this weekend! So of course, i made myself a long list of things to get done :)

On Friday evening I went to dinner and a movie with a girlfriend, very relaxing and much overdue!

Today (Saturday) I slept in until 10am (thankful for pregnancy, before I couldn't sleep past 8am!) I decided it was time to deep clean the house, so for four hours the dogs were outside and I cleaned...and cleaned. I took a lot of the decor that was in the guest room, future baby room, and decorated the rest of the house with it. I love it! Baby room is getting bare... ready for all of the baby stuff!
Josh is coming home to a spotless home tonight! After that we, my fur babies and I, went to the dog park. We walked 2 miles and it wore us out. Tonight I'm making homemade pizza roles and watching a movie until the hubby gets home.

I have this great recipe that we love. So I took the recipe and modified it a bit to make pizza roles. Here's the original recipe, I would definitely recommend it!

Chicken Pockets:
3 ounces of chive-and-onion cream cheese
3 tablespoons butter
Pepper
1/2 cup cubed chicken
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 (4 ounce) package of refrigerated crescent rolls
3 tablespoons seasoned bread crumbs
2 tablespoons chopped pecans (We didn't use pecans though)

In a small bowl, combine cream cheese, butter and pepper
Fold in chicken and mushrooms. Separate crescent dough into two rectangles, seal perforations
Roll up, starting from a short side, pinch ends to seal.
In a shallow bowl, combine bread crumbs and pecans. Melt remaining butter and brush over entire surface of dough.
Roll in crumb mixture. Use baking sheet - bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.

So i took this recipe and got pizza items for the inside and rolled them into the crescent roll, topped with cheese. They look good!

Today marks 14 weeks! I had an appointment on Thursday and heard the heartbeat again (160) and the doctor said everything looks great.. gained 4 lbs so far. Thankfully my chocolate donut crave hasn't caught up with me yet :)

10 weeks

Tomorrow we are going to the Plaza Art Fair. It's one of my favorite things. It's a festival on the plaza... lots of tents of food, art, and music. It's for an entire weekend once a year. I'm really looking forward to it!

Hope everyone enjoys the awesome weather! I'm thinking a pumpkin patch is in our future... our front door needs some fall decor!

Baby on Board!

With the most excitement I've ever had - we are proud to announce we are expecting our first child in March!! As of March 23, 2012 we will officially be a family of 3! (Family of 6 if you count our fur babies!)

It still seems a bit unreal even as I write this. We've heard the sweet heartbeat, saw the little peanut, told our family, told our close friends, and I'm approaching my 14th week of pregnancy and yes, i still can't seem to believe it :) I'm too excited! If you've noticed my blog has been lacking over the past few weeks - this is why. Everything going on has been baby, baby, baby! So I can finally share our story and catch everyone up!

On July 11th I got bronchitis, a really bad case and was super sick for almost 2 weeks. I got medication (don't worry it was baby safe even though I didn't know it had to be then) and would go to bed right after work and sleep through the entire night. By the 2nd week I was starting to feel better but then noticed I was still extremely exhausted.. of course I still blamed bronchitis.

On Friday, July 22nd, we were driving home from work to pack our bags and head to Arkansas to visit my best friend and her hubby. I casually told my husband that I should probably take a pregnancy test "just in case" so I'm not drinking all weekend if I "happen" to be pregnant. We honestly didn't even imagine it would be positive so when we got home I went upstairs, did my thing and within a few seconds it hit me. IT WAS TRUE... shaking with excitement and a lot of tears I ran downstairs (scarring my husband of course) and handed him the test. He just stared at me and kept saying "no way, no way, no way!" haha. Then we jumped around and acted like little kids for about 20 minutes. It was SO unbelievable and so exciting. Here's some pictures of this day:

On July 25th, we went to the doctor and they confirmed our dream come true! We were having a baby and I was 6 weeks along!

Hardest two weeks of my life! It was fun having the secret with my husband BUT i was sick and didn't have an excuse at work yet and let's be honest, i was way too excited to keep it in!

A few mock cocktails of sprite, water, cranberry juice... It's hard work acting like you're drinking when you're not :)

On Saturday, August 13th we drove to Tulsa to announce the news to my family. We announced the news by handing my stepmom and dad a bag of M&Ms. They were blue and pink and had writing on them - "Baby Mead" "2012" "Grandma" "Grandpa". After a few moments of letting them get their glasses on, my stepmom screamed "YOU'RE PREGANT?!?!" And let's be honest, my dad didn't say a word.. lots of tears.. and some more tears :)

A few hours later my brother's family came over. My niece is 4 and she sleeps with 3 stuffed animals - Kroeger a cat, Melmann a dog, and Sophie a dog which is all of our pets. So we bought her a doll for "baby mead". Once everyone sat down in the living room I gave Ariana the present and I whispered " the baby's name is baby mead, tell your mommy". So through excitement (of the gift of course) Ariana said "her name is Baby MEAT!". haha.. Wasn't quite exactly what I meant but within seconds my brother caught on and said "WHAT, DID SHE SAY WHAT I THOUGHT SHE SAID" So of course I said yes, baby mead will be here in march 2012 and that's when everyone went nuts! They were so excited!
Uncle Josh and Corbin :)
The next day on Sunday we drove back to Kansas City. We tried to talk Josh's parents into coming over to our house and then we'd go to dinner. Well Josh's dad worked all day and they didn't want to drive to KC understandably so we met them half way between their house and our house for dinner. We sat down and Josh handed his mom the bag of M&Ms. After a minute of getting glasses on and trying to figure out what this gift was.. she discovered it said "baby" and went crazy! She's been waiting for kids since September 12, 2009 (our wedding day) so the entire dinner was filled with tears, laughter and shaking of excitement.

On August 26th we went to the doctor and saw our baby for the very first time! With a strong heartbeat and the size of a peanut, we were healthy and right on track! It was absolutely the best day of my life. I could tell everyone and our baby was healthy! The doctor asked me to pull up my shirt and I lost it, I started balling and couldn't breath I was so excited. After a few moments I gathered myself and was able to see our baby :)

That afternoon I sent a ton of texts and phone calls to our friends and family to spread the news!! It was amazing, all of the love and support of everyone. We already feel so blessed!

This Thursday we go to the doctor again just for a checkup. I'm hoping I get to hear the heartbeat again :)

On October 21st we find out the sex of the baby! Seems crazy it's only a month away. Super excited we don't have to wait much longer!

Well that's our story so far... I'm sure this blog will officially turn into a baby blog now :)
