Brooks and Dunn Concert!!

If you are a country fan then you know how exciting this blog is! Brooks and Dunn are on tour this year and it’s their very last tour, EVER! I’ve been a country fan since I was little so when I heard their last tour was in 2010 I knew I had to go.

Once they released the tour dates we found out they weren’t coming to KC… go figure. We looked at other dates but no dates worked so I was stuck not going. BUT my sweet husband planned a surprise weekend in St. Louis with our friends - Dane, Sara, Kris, Chuck, Lucas and Amanda to go to the concert!! (He’s the best) Then a few weeks after he planned that he found out they changed their schedule and they ARE coming to KC! So he told me today at lunch we all have tickets to the KC concert on August 6th! I’m already so excited! He may be the best husband ever :) Time to buy some cute cowboy boots!

TGIF! I'm headed to Tulsa for my nephews baby shower tomorrow. It'll be fun to see my family for the afternoon! Josh is going to a concert tonight with his guy friends and then yard work tomorrow (so sorry i'm missing out on that.. hmm NOT!)

Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend!

Oh how we LOVE holiday weeks! My husband and I both travel for work so during holiday weeks we get to stay home and work from the KC office. It’s great!
(Simple pleasures in life right now).
We had a great weekend. We started Friday with dinner and movie with friends and then Saturday went to the lake with our friends. There was a good group of us that went to Chuck’s parent’s lake house on Lake Latawana (20 minutes from KC). Had lots of sun and beer.. aka.. an amazing Saturday :)
On Sunday we decided to do a lazy day, I mean REALLY lazy! We laid on the couch the whole day and watched the entire Season 3 of Dexter. (I’m completely obsessed with this series on HBO!). It’s so good!

I think our cat had the best day though, he would sleep an hour with Josh on the couch then switch to an hour with me. (Although I think he laid more with me, what can I say, he’s a momma’s boy!

We’re already half way through Season 4 now. Season 5 starts in September and I’m already ready. If you haven’t even seen it, you should start on Season 1!!

On Monday we went miniature golfing and spent time outside, it was beautiful in KC! (Finally the rain has passed – hopefully!)
Then Tuesday was a big day for me.. dun dun dun… We became “official” Kansas residents! We got Kansas licenses and car tags. I’ve had 3 different state tags in the past 5 years, hopefully this is the last one for the next few! (Yes, it took me 2 years to change my Oklahoma tag to Missouri) Good news is though, Kansas is like Oklahoma – you only need one car tag so the “Oklahoma State” front license plate is back on the car! (Josh was excited.. haha) after that adventure, (4 hours at the DMV – shoot me now!) Ma and Pa Mead came over for a cookout. Josh is becoming quite the pro on the grill :)

If any of you want to get in shape like Josh and I, you should try Insanity. It’s a 12 DVD workout. I’m sure most of you have heard of P90x, well this is the intense version. It has an appropriate name, it is INSANE! The guy leading the workout is Shawn T and by the end of the workout I’m usually cussing him out. We have a love/hate relationship! We are almost done with week one and we really like it. The first two days though I’ve never been so sore, ever! It was crazy. So by the end of the summer you may not recognize the Meads, if I can’t stop eating chocolate and diet coke. Hmm.. yeah, probably not going happen with my job :) So maybe we’ll just be more in shape!

So although our weekend was pretty uneventful it was wonderful for us. We NEVER stop going so we made ourselves this holiday (even though we stayed busy) We are busy every single weekend in June and July! (Although 2-3 weekends are blocked off for my nephew being born in Tulsa in July. I’m a little obsessed with my older brother’s kids, If you haven’t noticed already from reading my blog). We have baby showers, weddings, bachelorette parties, etc!

Ready set go.. Summer fun begins. Hope everyone had a good Memorial Day holiday!
