Preparing for the holiday!

This year we decided to host our first Thanksgiving! My parents, brothers family and in laws will all be spending Thursday at our house in KC. Even Abbey, my parents dog, is coming :) we are so excited! We divided up the food but we decided we would be the ones to tackle the turkey!

After 30 minutes at Home Depot contemplating the turkey fryer and how we will blow up our house with all that oil we decided to go the easy route. Don't judge, we are busy :)

We bought a turkey roaster, a much easier route where I dump the turkey in and let it cook for the afternoon :) then our other oven is available for sides and we aren't putting our entire family in danger with the turkey fryer! If you're hosting this year, I'd recommend this bad boy:

Plus it was only $25 at Target!

Then we found everything else we needed at HyVee:

Easy spices (probably shouldn't give away my secrets but oh well )

It's a bag of spices you put the turkey in and then put in roaster!

Other than our baking adventure we are relaxing and taking vacation on Wednesday to spend time with family when they get here.

Mel has decided to test us with getting on furniture, little booger! He knows he's not suppose to be on couch but what can I say, he's a toddler and likes to at least test me :)

I guess at least he sat on blanket! Haha.

Hope everyone has a great turkey day with the family and has as many blessings as I do in my life! God is good!
