NKOTBSB = New Kids On The Block and Backstreet Boys! Aka.. a flashback to 1990 and being a girly girl teenager!
On Saturday my sister in law and I went with 8 other girls to the concert. It was hilarious! (And the BEST girls night ever!) The boys have not changed.. it was all Boy Band.. dancing in sync, pulling off shirts to show their "sexy" bods, singing cheezy songs, a TON of screaming girls (who are all around 25-30 years old now), and of course, telling us that Kansas City has the most beautiful ladies in the world :)
One of the best parts of the concert is there was 2 girls in front of us that walked in late. They were wearing bridesmaid dresses and carrying their bouquets!! (I can't even make this up!). We heard them talking and they said that they had tickets to the concert before the wedding and told the bride they would not give away their tickets. My biggest question is, how did they still make the bridesmaid cut! If I were the bride, i would have said see ya later! haha. But one thing i will say - they danced their heart out the entire 4 hours and knew every word to every song; so at least they were serious in saying they loved NKOTBSB!
Back in the day, I was one of those girls. I LOVED boy bands.. Backstreet Boys, NSync, 98 Degrees, Boys II Men! I do remember a time that I honestly thought I "LOVED" JC (Nsync). I bought all the magazines, only listened to their music, etc. I would just like to say, thank you to my parents for putting up with me! I did like New Kids On The Block; but they were extremely popular when Michael Jackson was popular so honestly.. Michael was my main man. I did tell my mom that I would marry Michael one day. I had posters of him all over my bedroom and mocked his dancing skills (yes grabbing privates). Again, thank you for not locking me up after that statement :) I did move on.. although I think i may always have a crush on that man. Shh.. don't tell Josh.
While getting ready for the concert, Ariana took a bath and got ready with us. This is her loving Aunt Amber's hair wrap and showing her sweet dance moves!
While we were at the concert, Uncle Josh spent time with Ariana. They went to Monkey Buziness, Chick-fil-a and rented princess movies. She told me that they watched a scary movie (yes princess swan) but that she was brave and watched it all :) Thank gosh, Uncle Josh was there to protect her! We planned this a few months ago (Lauren coming to KC) and while planning we figured Ariana would enjoy some one on one time with Uncle Josh... and boy were we right! She LOVES his attention and I'm afraid I probably hog her a lot when I'm around so I'm glad they got the time together. Being 4 years old, she's so easy! No diapers, has conversations, can eat anything, etc. She's a blast to be around!
Unfortunately I'm still fighting a cold, since last Monday! I can't get over it. So today we are chilling, watching the US Open and doing laundry. Hopefully this goes away soon; it's summertime - people should be able to get sick!
One good note, my furbabies LOVE each other! They play all day together (Melmann is even gentle with her) and now are sleeping buddies. Who knew that a great dane and lhafa apso could be best friends :) They are so sweet, I love it!
Hope everyone has a great week!
