I am oh so thankful for everything in my life - my husband, family, friends, job, pets, and new home. I've had so many blessings in my life this year and I just love Thanksgiving!
Before the holiday we had a few days at home so we decorated for Christmas! Josh and I have always wanted a HUGE tree so two years ago we found one after Christmas and got it 70% off. It was so big we couldn't even use it in our rental house last year. So FINALLY we were able to put the tree up! And if i do say so myself, it turned out pretty good!
This was after a $100 receipt at Hobby Lobby of ornaments and decor of course! (Everything was half off too, it's a big ol tree!)
Since we adopted both of our boys (dog and cat) in 2010,
we now have a full fire place of stockings
Thanksgiving at our house turned out great! Everyone came and spent 2 days in our home. We all cooked, played with kids, played with dogs, watched football, and went to a movie. It's incredible how fast time goes when you're with your favorite people. It was Friday afternoon and everyone was leaving before I knew it. It was wonderful though.
While getting ready on Wednesday night I realized just how gross making the turkey was..
I survived though and it eventually turned out like this: (Thankfully!)
And i will admit, it was super easy and was very tender and yummy! if you want to try it.. do it!
So lately Josh and I have started talking about kids and when we'd like to have them, and so on. Well we definitely have some time before we are ready, for example - My brother asked for a glass to heat my nephews bottle in so I gave him one..
And of course right away, my brother goes "wow only at Aunt Amber's would you be heating a baby bottle up in a Bud Light cup". haha. WHOOPS! So i guess we have a few more steps before we start really having "baby" on our mind! :)
For now we will enjoy our snuggle bugs, niece and nephew!
Our sassy 3 year old niece crossing her legs and reading her book out loud. haha, she really couldn't be more fun to be around right now:
Corbin doing his Michael Jackson pose, hehe:
Family picture time! (They just love my camera)
Father in law, Mother in law, me, husband, brother, niece, sis-in-law, nephew, stepmom and dad
Although the week was great the weekend wasn't as great as expected. Josh and I both came down with a stomach bug on Friday evening and laid on the couch all day on Saturday. We missed our yearly trip to Arrowhead Stadium (Chiefs) for the Border Showdown - MU/KU game. We go every year with a huge group of friends for tailgating and going to the game. So it was a bummer to miss it but the good news is MU won! Unfortunately later on Saturday my Cowboys lost the Bedlam game. Those darn Sooners! Oh well, my Cowboys had a great year!
Now it's back to reality. Flight at 830am tomorrow morning to Chicago and i have two huge weeks ahead of me at work. Lots of hard work but hopefully it goes smoothly!
Hope everyone had a great holiday and got to spend time with love ones like we did!
