Sunshine

Last week we got away from the inches of snow and freezing wind in Kansas City and enjoyed the sunshine in Scottsdale, AZ. We left on Thursday evening after work and had a long weekend of fun. There were 10 of us all weekend so it was a great time! On Thursday we flew out on Southwest and since we always travel we get free drink coupons.. needless to say with 10 of us sitting together on the airplane the flight attendant eventually "cut us off" from the coupons..sorry for having fun Southwest! Our friends husband is an air traffic controller in KC so we even got a "hello Mandy, Janae, Ashley, Amber, and Josh and have fun" from the pilot. (cool, huh?!)
My husbands typical face when he hears "smile!"..

Thursday night we got to Arizona and enjoyed jalapeno mac and cheese (to die for!) at a restaurant and then crashed around midnight. Friday morning we woke up and went to Camelback Mountain to hike. It was incredible.. a LOT of work going up the mountain but a great workout and some even better views!

We made it to the top!
This was the third attempt of a "jumping" picture.. as you can see i finally gave up. This one is pretty funny though :)

After hiking we went shopping and got some great deals (we are on vacation so of course everything is a good deal!)
For the evening we went to dinner at a really cool, nice restaurant and then out on the town. I unfortunately forgot my camera but it was fantastic!

On Saturday we went to the Waste Management Golf Tournament (Phoenix Open). It was awesome!  A full day of walking around drinking beer in the sunshine. It was more of a party than a golf tournament but amazing. They didn't allow cameras either! I felt lost without my camera for the rest of the trip!
My husband is OBSESSED with golf.. if the sun is in the sky then at some point in the day i will hear the comment "wow, what a great day to golf" so seeing Phil Michellson and all the famous golfers was a good day for him. He always has golf on the TV at home so i actually got a bit excited when i saw these guys in person too :) I was really hoping to see Tiger but i guess he doesn't play in this tournament.

Here's the golf course from Camelback:

All in all, it was a great getaway and made some wonderful memories with our friends! Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.. rumor is it will be in the 60s! I see a dog park and long walks in my future!
