Snow bunny..Snow beast :)

We have found Melmann's favorite thing to play with..SNOW!
The neighborhood kids and snow in the front yard equals heaven for our 7 month old puppy.

It looks like he's saying "who me?!"

Our personal puppy shovel..

Mel's best bud, Dillon, our neighbor. Dillon comes over all the time to play with him :)

Tunnel time!
Hope everyone can enjoy the snow as much he does. He makes me realize how simple life can be and to not stress about the small stuff like timelines and projects at work.

This weekend we are spending time at home and then enjoying a Saturday night out for dinner and drinks with our good friends, Chuck and Kristin. As for tonight.. we are doing this:

Stay warm and happy weekend!

Homemaking 101

Ringing in the New Year!

To start the new year off right we spend NYE with our great friends in KC. Every year our phrase is "NYE is overrated" and we stay at home or a friends house being boring (although I enjoy that too!) This year we decided we'd go all out since we haven't in the past 4 years.. So we began our evening at our friends place in Waldo eating and drinking until our party bus came to pick us up. There were 10 of us. The party bus took us to Californios (an awesome restaurant in Westport) for an all inclusive drink/party night. It was fantastic. We spent most of our time on the dance floor.. although don't be fooled. The dance floor was were everyone was standing around and hanging out - talking/drinking/kind of dancing. It was great! Our friends parents own the restaurant so us girls got a little VIP treatment - we got the back restroom and some food... what can we say we are "VIP". The bus came and got us at 1am and brought us back to our friends house. The girls went to bed after a snack but the boys decided to stay up till 6am playing video games. Needless to say - Saturday was a lazy lazy day of watching football and movies :)

Fun fun evening!
Party bus!
My friend, Sara, is her HOT party dress! Dane is one lucky man

In 2011 I decided I (we) would finish our home decorating. We moved last April and still have one empty room and half done rooms all over the house. It is time to conquer this family task! We now have everything we need except a few decors for the formal living room and our bedroom. (it's been a busy, expensive few weeks). Our bedroom furniture is being delivered on Feb. 19th so that will be a good day! We will FINALLY have dressers/nightstands instead of boxes for drawers in our closet and TV trays for our nightstands. Here are some of the improvements so far:

A wine rack for our kitchen, we have a huge empty wall by our kitchen table so i've been on the lookout for some kind of wine rack. I finally found something!

Dining Room table and decor. I honestly can't believe I waited as long as I did to finish this room. It's right by the front door and has been empty forever!

Here are some pictures of the family room.. finally completed and all the "bachelor pad" furniture is gone. We've been using Josh's old furniture since we moved in and it looked like a man cave in our living room! New couch, coffee table, end tables, decor and pillows.. finally completed!

We have a formal living room that is now almost done. I still want a white shaggy rug for this room but it's expensive and I just can't break down and buy it yet. We've spent time in this room about 5 hours the past 9 months! So it will wait a few more months to complete this. Here is the room so far:

Today the Chiefs are playing at Arrowhead and it's their first playoff game in 11 years! We could of bought tickets but i'm sorry.. when it looks like this outside -
I'd be one unhappy, grumpy fan! Although this may be my last game on my comfy, warm couch. Josh and I are now season ticket holders for the KC Chiefs. (Best wife award please!). Our friends dad has been a ticket holder for 29 years and was selling some tickets. Our other friends bought two and we bought two. There's a group of 14 of us who now have season tickets together. They are hard core tailgaters and never miss a game. AKA - I've already started thinking about what warm gear i need to buy before next years games start! I am excited though - NFL games are super fun and one day it will be fun that our kids will have the opportunity to go to NFL games. I didn't have that opportunity living in Oklahoma.

So it looks like today we will be spending our time watching the Chiefs beat the Ravens! (fingers crossed)! Have a great, warm week!
